Alongside the endangered trout, many other fish species live here in the Longinoja stream – the same that you can find in the Vantaanjoki river.

• The gudgeon (Gobio gobio) is a small fish in the carp family (Cyprinidae) that lives on river beds.
• The chub (Squalius cephalus) is a stockier member of the carp family that can be identified by its rounded anal fin (behind the belly).
• The stone loach (Barbatula barbatula) is a small fish with barbels around the bottom jaw that lives among the gravel and stones of fast flowing water.
• The pike (Esox lucius) is a predator that eats other fish, including members of its own species.
• The grayling (Thymallus thymallus) is a species of game fish that lives in fast flowing waters. It can be identified by its large dorsal fin that looks like a sail.
• In addition to trout, many other fish species like to swim in the Longinoja stream.
