A stream in a pipeline

Yes! Back to my home stream to spawn! – I’m going to the sea to enjoy an adventure and grow big! – I think I’ll stay right where I am!

In this section of the stream, a road for people crosses a road for fish. The Longinoja stream passes through a pipeline for a distance of 200 metres under the Kehä I ring road. In other words, there are trout swimming beneath the busiest road in Finland!

The trout feed in the sea for a couple of years before returning to spawn in their home stream.

The fish swim through the pipeline to get to the spawning gravel upstream.
